TB30 ASTM D1838 Copper Corrosion of LPG

The Tamson TB30 ASTM D1838 is a bath designed for copper corrosion tests of LPG. The TB30 conforms to ASTM D1838, EN/ISO 6251, IP411, BS2000 Part 411, BS6924, NF M41-007. The robust TB30 is designed to hold up to four LPG cylinders for copper corrosion tests. The compact TB30 can operate at 37.8°C without the use of counter-cooling. The cover in the TB30 has openings, so that the user can visually check the LPG cylinder when it is in the bath.The TB30 can be supplied with all accessories needed for corrosion tests.

TC16 used for ASTM-D1796

The TC16 ASTM D1796 bath is designed to preheat the centrifuge cones as required when follwing the determination for water and sediment in fuel oils (ASTM D1796) or crude oils (ASTM D4007) by the centrifuge method. The robust TC16 is according to the requirements of the ASTM D1796 test method where a water bath is prescribed to preheat the cone-shaped centrifuge tubes. With the levelling platform and special designed rack, nine 8" cone shaped centrifuge tubes can be immersed up to the 100 mL mark, as prescribed in the ASTM methods.

The sample is refrigerated by means of a cooling coil and collect 100 mL of liquid in a weathering tube, The sample allowed to evaporate ( “weather") at ambient pressure under specified conditions. When 5 mL of liquid test portion remains, the observed temperature is corrected for barometric pressure and thermometer ice point error, and reported as 95 % evaporation temperature.

This method evaluates the cleanliness and quality of LPG by measuring substances that do not readily vaporize. A LPG sample is condensated by refrigeration and evaporated under controlled conditions. The sample is refrigerated by means of a cooling coil to collect 100 mL of liquid in a weathering tube. The sample is than allowed to evaporate ( “weather") at ambient pressure under specified conditions. The remaining residu is observed.
